Auguste-Joseph Desarnot

Auguste-Joseph Desarnod, or Desarnot was a French-born engraver and battle painter who spent most of his life in Russia. He is sometimes referred to as "The Elder", to distinguish him from his son of the same name, who lived from 1812 to 1850, and was also a painter.
