Richard Pettibone

Richard Pettibone was an American artist. He was known for duplicating in miniature noted contemporary artworks. He copied paintings, including those by Frank Stella, Andy Warhol, and Roy Lichtenstein and sculptures including Warhol's Brillo boxes and Duchamp's readymades. The FLAG Art Foundation describes Pettibone's style as Appropriation Art. Pettibone attended the Otis Art Institute. His first wife was fellow artist Shirley Pettibone. That marriage ended in divorce.
